Vedano Cultural Hub

The project is located in a strategic space between the historic town of Vedano and the Villa Reale park in Monza, near the road leading to the Autodromo. The designed building occupies the site of a recently demolished cinema, where a small semicircular square opens up. The proposal defines an area consisting of two structures that outline the triangular courtyard. One of these structures is intended for a theater hall and is complemented by a scenic tower, an emerging element in the context, while the other portion is entirely dedicated to hosting the library. The library presents itself with an information space at the entrance, followed by a grandstand that can be used as a multifunctional space. This open space, accompanied by a staircase that becomes a bridge, is permeable from the street, opening towards the internal courtyard with a covered space to create an interesting interpenetration between internal and external public spaces.
