Teatro Borsoni nominated for the European Prize – Mies van der Rohe Award 2026

We are pleased to announce that the Renato Borsoni Theater in Brescia, designed by Botticini + Facchinelli ARW in collaboration with Brescia Infrastrutture, has been nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2026.

Promoted by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe with the support of the Creative Europe program of the European Commission, the award is one of the most prestigious international recognitions in the field of architecture. Each edition highlights and celebrates works that best embody architectural excellence in Europe, as well as the constructive quality and cultural value that architecture can bring to contemporary society.

The nomination of Teatro Borsoni acknowledges the significance of an intervention that, through the regeneration of a former industrial site, gives back to the city a new place for culture and community. The project reflects ARW’s vision of creating site-specific architectures, capable of transforming existing contexts and fostering a meaningful dialogue between memory, function, and the urban future.

The selection for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2026 represents an important international recognition for ARW and a further encouragement to continue pursuing an architecture that unites poetry, technique, and civic responsibility.
