Production Center & Museum
The project involves the expansion and renovation of an existing industrial structure, which is enhanced by the creation of a museum aimed at representing the building's previous life and the production of the company that inhabited it. The intervention is based on continuity between a new structure, created to integrate the parts subsequently built, and a corrugated and perforated metal skin that materially embodies this both physical and conceptual continuation. On the roof, a volume characterized by a large metal beam is added, integrating the new bodies with the existing ones, creating an overhang towards the street capable of defining a public square. The covered square has also been designed to serve as a privileged and sheltered access threshold to the museum.
The chromatic contrast between the black metal and the red-colored glass surface is crucial as it stands out as a strong signaling element during nighttime hours.
