Brescia is not a postcard – ARW Associates x Urban Creative City-break

On Friday, 12 June 2026, ARW Associates will take part in Urban Creative City-break, the format promoted by Stratosferica that moves through cities not simply to describe them, but to question them.

The event will stop in Brescia, bringing together designers, cultural operators, artists and business stakeholders in a journey through places, visions and urban practices. Not a guided tour, but an immersion into a city that continues to transform itself, often far from the easiest narratives.

This time, the city will be explored together with an international group of experts working across urban regeneration, placemaking, public space, accessibility, urban governance, innovation and territorial development.

For ARW Associates, Brescia is not simply a working context. It is a field of research, a living archive, an urban device made of layers, fractures, permanences and possibilities. A city where design cannot simply add new forms, but must learn to read what already exists, recognise its tensions and reactivate its potential.

During the day, ARW will contribute through the story of the UNESCO Corridor, a project that interprets historical heritage not as an enclosure to be contemplated, but as a public, accessible and contemporary infrastructure. A project in which memory is not museumified, but set back in motion.

Brescia thus becomes a concrete urban laboratory: not an ideal city, but a real, complex and stratified one. A place where design can still build connections, open passages and make forgotten relationships visible again.

Urban Creative City-break will be an opportunity to experience this condition up close, observing the city not as a backdrop, but as an active material of transformation. Because urban space is not only inherited: it is interpreted, negotiated and rewritten.
