ARW at the 6th ICAUD Conference in Tirana

The studio ARW Associates will take part in the 6th ICAUD – International Conference on Architecture and Urban Design, organized by Epoka University in Tirana (Albania).
The event brings together architects, researchers, and academics from around the world to explore contemporary challenges in architecture and urban design.
ARW will contribute with two lectures, focusing on the themes of urban regeneration and new forms of living.
🕓 3:45 PM – Session “[UN]EQUAL SPACES”
Lecture by Alessandro Galperti, ARW architect
The lecture addresses urban regeneration as a tool to reconnect fragmented territories, emphasizing the concept of porosity as a key to counteracting phenomena of segregation and isolation.
Through the site-specific approach that defines the studio’s work, Galperti will illustrate how architecture can act as a social and landscape infrastructure, capable of restoring continuity between places, people, and functions.
🕓 4:00 PM – Session “EQUAL SPACES”
Lecture by Stefano Gatti, ARW architect
Drawing from the book New Forms of Living, the lecture explores a new way of inhabiting the home, in relation to contemporary social transformations and the impact of the pandemic.
The domestic space is reinterpreted as an osmotic, open, and relational environment, where the loggia becomes “the extra room”: a bioclimatic and social device that extends the very concept of dwelling, creating continuity between interior and exterior.
ARW’s participation in ICAUD represents an important opportunity for international dialogue and the consolidation of the studio’s presence in Tirana, where new projects are already underway.
